Don't Mention The War

Best. Iraq. Essay. Ever

  1. And yet again, the reason- not the excuses and macguffins- of the war is either ignored (possibly) or simply has not occured to the author, or anyone else on his side of the divide.

The American (or, to be pedantic and Correct, "Coalition") presence in Iraq is meant to construct a government based on classic liberal democracy, e.g. Western, lines as a catalyst for change. It's not Big Oil, it's not WMD (which were an excuse, let's face it), and it certainly wasn't for the sake of Tel Aviv.

I shan't go into further detail inasmuch as other, brighter bulbs have expounded at length; www.opinionjournal.com/extra/?id=110003786 for instance.
