And Mr. Rilston'e reaction to the casting of the new Doctor, the most conservative choice in the history of Doctor Who. (This guy is David Tennant, right? Only even younger. The hugely important teenage girl demographic will love it, I suppose.)
I'd like to second the requestion for the traditional Christmas message!
I'm scared that the new Doctor is a year older than me. It does lend credence to my friend's theory that since the new series started they've been trying to make the doctor younger and better looking. (To be fair she only has one generation backing up this theory, since Paul McGann was younger than Christopher Ecclestone and Peter Davison was 29 according to Wikipedia...)
I really have nothing to say. It was an RTD story. 50% of the world agreeS with me about RTD stories. Whatever I say, the other 50% will believe that I Don't enjoy any story which doesn't have washing up liquid bottle space ships hanging on pieces of string. (Or else tell me that I am somehow morally obliged to like anything with Doctor Who branding on it.) So I really have no desire to go over all the points all over again. They'll be a short piece in Skiffynow next month if you feel like paying for it. This month has one on Merlin and one on Battlefield.

I was wrong about Billie Piper, I was wrong about Catherine Tate, so I am perfectly happy to shut up about the new guy until I've actually seen him in the role. The fact that the Beeb decided to dedicate a whole programme to the announcement (beamed to giant TV screens in town centers all round the country) does rather confirm my prejudice that the show is now more about the casting than it is about the drama -- a sort of off-shoot of big brother. But really, until I have something to say, I propose to shut up.
