P.S

The reason that it's unfair to harp on about Lord Rothermere's relationship with the Furher is that the present day paper's attitude to minorities -- Moslems, gypsies, gays etc -- is so entirely different from that of "Adolf the geat" to the Jews.

Okay, experiment in blogging about politics didn't work out. Back to looking for the Oedipus complex in Winnie the Pooh, I think.

I was pretty happy with the experiment in politics - I just didn't want to be starting fights in your comments threads all the time.

In the interests of fairness, perhaps we could refer to the Daily Mail as "The paper that was too late to support slavery but does its best to make up for the lost opportunity"?

How about more Wagner, enough to bind a whole book perhaps? By the way, I was wondering if you had read the Stewart Spencer translation of the Ring and could opine on it. I've heard very good things about it and was wondering if it was worth picking up.

Oedipus complex in Winnie the Pooh? Sounds pretty awesome if you ask me.

CLUE: Re-read the dedication to "The House at Pooh Corner.

Mind you, I've been failing to get around to this for the best part of a year...

I'll have to read the article. I can't detect any Oedipus complex in that dedication and only have vague ideas how it could be related to one.
