Next time someone asks you what the BBC is for, listen to Kirsty's reaction to Martin Carthy's story about Scarborough Fair, and then listen to Benjamin Zephaniah reading the House at Pooh Corner for the first time. You just don't get moments like this on the tellybox.

Anyone who wants to hear the Paul Simon material in the Martin Carthy DID, skip on to 26:40.

The second link, unfortunately, is a copy of the first. Where should it point, Andrew?

Thanks for the link. For anyone else who wants to hear the relevant excerpt, background begins at 10:00 and the actual discussion at 11:30.

Yeah, but if you skip straight to the A.A Milne bit, you'll miss him drinking tea for the first time... The whole 30 minutes is just lovely...

I'm, sure it is, but I can't just sit and listen to 30 minutes of Desert Island Discs in the middle of the working day. (Five minutes seems to be OK, though!)
